Graceful and elegant, with all the horsepower you need to rule the road in true Italian fashion...
Named after the African desert wind, the Maserati Ghibli looks fast even while parked. The Italian thoroughbred is one classy ride, and I get a chance to experience the Maserati Ghibli up close.
An Italian-themed event gave me a rare opportunity to ride the legendary Maserati (for more on the classy Italian-themed event, see my post on my other food blog for FABTECH'S Gelateneo Launch). The smooth, meticulously curved lines are accentuated by the vibrant red tone, the Maserati Rosso Energia, giving it a seamless and stylish edge to slice through the wind. And there's really nothing like a red supercar, the stuff of countless boyhood dreams, and this one takes you from zero to 100 km/h in a mere 5.6 seconds.
It's noble lineage dates back to 1967 when the first ever Maserati Ghibli was unveiled, and since then, the Maserati Ghibli has evolved with its own unique style and personality in its latest edition.
Beneath its stylish design, the Maserati Ghibli is all business, and one of the best sport sedans in its class.
From every angle and even the rear, the Maserato Ghibli exudes both speed and power, accentuated by design details that immediately tell you it's a cut above the rest. And leave it to the Italians to infuse their own distinct personality, that vibrant panache, into each Maserati.
Those sleek eyes are raring for speed, yet this sporty sedan has a certain grace, raw energy in velvet gloves. And it just feels so right.
At the driver's seat, it's all about comfort and control, from the ergonomic three-spoke leather-clad steering wheel, the large instrumentation panel with its bold speedometer and rpm counter dramatically lit with white backlighting and a separate 7" TFT display featuring the car's dynamic data to complete the experience. The sporty seats, made with elegant, supple, and soft Poltrona Frau leather wraps around you, and the material is also used for the dashboard and doors with its handcrafted and exquisite stitching. The rich blend of materials give the interiors a stately yet sporty feel, from the fine leather upholstery, the rich wood tones of natural walnut, the sleek carbon fibre material, and the sporty brushed steel pedals.
Under the hood, the base model features a solid 330 horsepower twin turbo, 3.0 Liter V-6, that purrs like the desert wind, with enough horsepower for that need for speed. With a top speed of 263 km/h, this is one pure Italian thoroughbred. A light push on the gas pedal reverberates with the deep hum of all 330 horses, ready to take you there. Fast. And in style...
