The launch of the new AirAsia Santan In-Flight Meals was held at one of Bohol's luxurious and premier destinations at Amorita Resort, Panglao Island's brilliant gem overlooking the famed Alona Beach (for more on Amorita Resort, see my post, #AmoritaXAirAsia: Three Days at Amorita Resort Bohol). The idyllic and picturesque resort property was the perfect backdrop for the launch of AirAsia's new in-flight meals (for more on AirAsia Santan in-flight meals, see my earlier posts, #AirAsiaInBohol: Savor Comforting Local Flavors with the New AirAsia Santan In-Flight Meals on the recent launch, #AirAsiaInDavao: AirAsia Introduces Unique Malagos Chocolate-Infused Meal to Santan In-Flight Menu Selection on the flavorful dish created by Chef JP Anglo and Enhancing the Onboard Experience with AirAsia's Santan Food Festival on the launch last year in Kuala Lumpur). At the launch, guests enjoyed both the travel and destination experience from AirAsia and Amorita Resort for another memorable adventure.
The AirAsia flight to Tagbilaran from Terminal 4 takes roughly an hour...
...and the flight becomes even more enjoyable when a popular AirAsia Santan all-time favorite was served. Uncle Chin's Chicken Rice, with soft and fluffy rice topped with tender and juicy slices of roast chicken drizzled with a sweet, tangy and mildly spicy chili, ginger and garlic sauce always hits the spot. A classic Chinese Malaysian dish, Uncle Chin's Chicken Rice is just one of many ASEAN-inspired flavors passengers can enjoy on AirAsia flights. From Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak to Kung Pao Chicken with Rice and Thai Green Curry with Rice (a personal favorite), AirAsia takes pride in celebrating the very best of ASEAN with its savory in-flight meals. To highlight the rich and diverse flavors of the region, AirAsia introduces new in-flight meals drawing inspiration from comforting local flavors to be revealed at Amorita resort.
Aboard the flight, another exclusive innovation from AirAsia was introduced. Soon, passengers can fly with Wi-Fi access so staying connected at a cruising altitude of 30,000 feet becomes another layer in your experience with AirAsia. AirAsia's ROKKI Wi-Fi lets you enjoy free in-flight entertainment and your favorite apps on-board with just a few simple and easy clicks on your mobile device. Continuous innovation, it's what sets AirAsia apart.
After landing at Tagbilaran and short half-hour van ride, we finally arrived at Amorita Resort. First impressions always counts, and with views like this, Amorita Resort definitely leaves a memorable impression the very minute you enter the elegant property.
A refreshing welcome Cucumber Lemongrass beverage and a cold towel soothes both the body and palate, welcome to your paradise in Panglao Island.
Amorita Resort offers 96 rooms in a variety of configurations, from the Junior Suite to Deluxe Room, One and Two Bedroom Suites, and One Bedroom Sea View Suites...
...all the way to the private Pool Villas. The Pool Villas, with its very own private pool, offers both intimacy and privacy with all the modern comforts and amenities for the ultimate weekend escape.
But if you do decide to leave the Pool Villa and take a short walk around the expansive property, you won't be disappointed. Situated high above an elevated limestone cliff, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the Bohol Sea beyond one of Amorita's infinity pools...
...of varying shapes and sizes. The water's fine, so dive right in.
At the edge of the infinity pool at the Amorita Resort's Cliff Deck, guests can take in the majestic views of the island including the famous Alona Beach with its powder soft white sand.
Throughout the property, one can't help but admire the organic modern aesthetic of the resort's striking yet free-flowing design and sleek lines that blend in with the lush natural surroundings.
The resort feels like a secluded nature sanctuary, immersing guests in a canopy of verdant greens. If you're looking at getting away from it all, Amorita Resort is just one of many ideal choices in the island of Panglao.
But just like any flight experience, dining well in a resort stay goes a long, long way in ensuring a memorable vacation. At Amorita Resort, be prepared to savor an indulgent culinary experience at Saffron Restaurant with its signature a la carte dishes and sumptuous buffet spread complete with live stations and an open kitchen so you get your dish fresh and hot (for more on Saffron Restaurant, see my previous post, #AmoritaXAirAsia: Three Days in Amorita Resort Bohol).
Feast your eyes with the dramatic vistas of turquoise blue waters and please your palate with Saffron Rerstaurant's savory spread, all here at Amorita Resort.
If you're craving for Spanish cuisine, Amorita Resort's got that covered too. At Tomar Tapas x Bar, guests can enjoy round after round of soothing sangrias along with tapas and savory Spanish dishes like Paella Negra while waiting for the sunset (for more on Tomar Tapas x Bar, see my other post, #AmoritaXAirAsia: Tapas and Sangrias at Amorita Resort Bohol's Tomar Tapas x Bar).
The next morning, a buffet breakfast at Saffron Restaurant ensures you start your day right. Hot pancakes and French toast fresh off the griddle, a generous drizzle of sweet Amorita honey, a crisp hash brown and a perfectly executed sunny side-up, it just doesn't get better than that. During my entire stay at Amorita Resort, my sunny side ups were consistently prepared just the way I like it. They also do fluffy omelets with your choice of fillings, but trust me on the sunny side ups. Executive Chef Onie Castillo helms the kitchens at Amorita Resort, and his team ensures your stay at the property is a feast for the senses.
Later that day, we visited another boutique resort managed by the same group behind Amorita Resort, the charming Momo Beach House located less than twenty kilometers from Alona Beach. In stark contrast with the luxurious elegance of Amorita Resort, Momo Beach House offers a quaint and rustic island tropical vibe with a Bohemian feel for that cozy beachfront experience. With only sixteen rooms with eco-friendly amenities, Momo Beach House presents another facet of the island, a more intimate experience without the usual crowds.
A beach all you yourself. Locals call it "Momo Magic."
Dining at Momo Beach House follows the same simple yet hearty character of the property, serving the freshest local ingredients prepared with the same attention to detail and real flavors. Indulge in a sumptuous garden-fresh salad drizzled with a tart vinaigrette infused with fresh fruits, or go for a comforting pasta dish paired with their popular pizzas fresh from the ovens for another unique taste of the island (for more on Momo Beach House and their signature restaurant, Beach Tree Cafe, see my post, Momo Magic at Momo Beach House).
After a satisfying meal, simply pick a spot along the beach. Slow days are the norm at Momo Beach House, and that's just what you need to wash away all the stress from the hectic urban rush.
Back at Amorita Resort, the AirAsia team prepared for the formal launch of the new AirAsia Santan In-Flight Meals with an intimate set-up at Saffron Restaurant's al-fresco area. That warm and friendly AirAsia smile sets the tone for the event, the same way it does on every flight.
During the launch, we sampled the new in-flight meals, and what a treat. Inspired by traditional local flavors, the new AirAsia Santan In-Flight Meals are yet another tasty reason to fly with AirAsia.
The new Chicken Kare-Kare has all the enduring and familiar notes of the classic Filipino dish, with tender chunks of chicken draped in a rich and thick peanut-based sauce for that subtle sweetness and savory richness. The fresh crispness of the vegetables complete the dish.
The Chicken Bicol Express is AirAsia's version of another Filipino classic, with tender chicken simmered in rich coconut cream spiced up with the soothing heat of fresh chili. Like the Chicken Kare-Kare, the Chicken Bicol Express offers bold yet balanced flavors. And the sauce really pairs well the steamed white rice. Both meals are an excellent addition to the growing selection of AirAsia Santan In-Flight Meals.
The improved Beef Tapa offers bolder, beefy notes with upfront garlicky hints for another satisfying meal option aboard AirAsia flights. Paired with soft and fluffy scrambled eggs and steamed white rice, it's a comforting meal that just triggers fond and nostalgic memories.
Along with the new AirAsia Santan In-Flight Meals, we were also served light snacks of savory sandwiches as part of the new menu. Tasty treats await on your next flight with AirAsia, adding yet another layer to a memorable experience on your next journey.
Shopping up in the skies? Why not. AirAsia also presented popular items from the In-Flight Catalog...
...including eco-friendly items in response to emerging environmental concerns. It's an advocacy in the right direction.
In a short message, AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador expressed the airline's continuing commitment in providing the very best passenger experience with continuous innovations. A recipient of numerous awards, AirAsia takes the lead in transforming the industry not just in the region but in the competitive global market.
AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador is joined by his team from AirAsia and Lyba Godio, Chief Operating Officer of Amorita Resort, at the conclusion of another successful launch. It's the seamless blend of both the travel and destination experiences that always make AirAsia's events so memorable.
After the launch, Amorita Resort's stunning views complete the experience. A walk along the beach, a dip in the pool...
...or a relaxing massage, the options are endless.
By sundown, the calm waters by the beach merge with the vivid blue horizon...
...and it's time for Sunset Cocktails at Amorita Resort's Cliff Deck. A cocktail and a sunset, it's the perfect ending for another day in paradise.
That evening, Amorita Resort served three new cocktails like the Tropic Wonder, a soothing blend of gin, fresh buko juice, melon, pandan syrup and a splash of calamansi for that tropical island vibe. Guests also enjoyed other new cocktails like Amorita Resort's own version of the Vodka Tonic with pomelo and tarragon and the Midnight with rum and lychee syrup.
Later in the evening, Executive Chef Onie Castillo prepared another elegant feast to cap the day. Impressed from Day One, wonders never cease at Amorita Resort.
On our third and last day, early mornings allow guests to take in the views one last time. Why not do something good for your body with Amorita Resort's Sunrise Yoga? Amorita Resort holds regular Sunrise Yoga Sessions at 7:00 am at the Cliff Deck...
...and there's just no better way to stretch those muscles and joints when you have a view like this.
Breakfast for one last time at Amorita Resort's Saffron Restaurant, and one last time to say goodbye to the friendly staff who know you so well, they refill your cup of coffee at the right time and prepare your sunny side up just the way you like it. It's the little things like these that make your stay memorable.
Packed and ready to go with time to spare, a quick visit to Amorita Resort's Private Cove offers one more chance to bring home some peace and serenity with you. It's been an amazing three days at Amorita Resort...
...and you can get there with a few simple clicks on your mobile device with AirAsia.
