One memorable weekend that far exceeded expectations...at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle.
Located at the heart of old Manila in Malate, Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle is a smart and convenient option for travelers in this part of the metro. With excellent facilities and amenities coupled with impeccable service and security, Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle represents the highest standards in hospitality backed by one of the country's premier institutions.
An extension of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde institution, a pioneer school in the hospitality industry, Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle is also ideally situated at the center of the metro within easy reach of the airport, the historic colonial Malate Church, a bustling nightlife district and the Makati commercial and business district for your convenience. A training ground for aspiring professionals in the hospitality industry, Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle reflects the high standards of the proud institution in its name.
From the minute you enter and check in at the Front Desk to the moment you arrive at your room, a courteous and professional vibe greets you every step of the way. Staffed by young professionals, mostly fresh graduates and working students from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, the youthful energy of Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle gives it a unique character that sets it apart from the usual hotel in the metro (for more on Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle, see my post on my other food blog here at Coming Home: A Weekend at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle).
Newly renovated and smartly appointed, Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle aims to set a sleeker standard of service that's more complete and memorable for the modern traveler. Walking through the long and impressive hall way leading to the guest rooms becomes an experience in itself, a preview of even better things yet to come. Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle is a 12-storey structure with an impressive roof deck where the hotel pool and fine dining restaurant, Vatel, are located. But only two floors are allocated for accommodations, located at the 11th and 12th floors with the rest of the floors used as event venues and classrooms for De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
Inside my Superior Twin, the spacious yet streamlined configuration exudes a modern yet comforting feel with its muted pastel shades of warm earth tones. On the walls, the familiar design elements of the distinct "Rabat" worn by La Salle Christian Brothers can be immediately spotted. The soft mattresses covered in plush and velvety smooth linens is an inviting sight. This is home for the weekend...
Each room includes a convenient work space with all the necessary plugs and outlets to keep you and your mobile devices fully charged and connected with the rest of the world. Other modern amenities include a 40-inch LED Smart TV, free Wi-Fi high-speed internet access, clean and spacious toilet and bath with all the necessary toiletries, coffee and tea-making facilities, mini-bar and automated service calling. Everything you need is right here.
Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle offers a total of 49 well appointed rooms, from Dormitory, Superior Twin, Deluxe Queen and Deluxe Queen PWD, Deluxe King, a One Bedroom Suite, and the luxurious Presidential Suite to suit any requirement or budget. I'm told that the staff from the Vatican was billeted at Hotel Maison De La Salle during the historic papal visit occupying both floors.
It was a rainy weekend, but a short break in the clouds allowed me to take a peek at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle's scenic Roof Deck with its panoramic views of the Manila skyline.
Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle's signature fine dining restaurant, Vatel, is also located up at the Roof Deck but with the school term over, closed for the next few weeks. Once the school term begins, the students will be back to run the acclaimed restaurant.
The hotel pool at the Roof Deck offer guests stunning views of the skyline that's perfect after a few leisurely laps...
...and if you need to maintain your physical regimen, no worries. The hotel's gym should keep you in shape without skipping a beat.
But forget counting calories, Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle offers some of the best cuisine this side of the metro at Cafe Romancon located at the ground floor. From salads to sandwiches, pasta to savory mains and indulgent desserts, Cafe Romancon is a dining destination in itself. The casual dining establishment also offers daily buffet breakfast for hotel guests and walk-ins.
At Cafe Romancon, always save room for dessert (for more, see my post on my other food blog at Coming Home: A Weekend at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle).
Early the next day, the continuous rains the day before finally subsided to reveal bright blue skies...
...and it was time for breakfast at Cafe Romancon.
The friendly and courteous staff at Cafe Romancon ensures you get that perfect start with a sumptuous breakfast and never-empty cup of coffee. The extensive buffet spread includes a selection of cereals, fresh fruits and baked bread, gourmet cheeses, and sumptuous savory mains...
...including a live Egg Station where the station chef prepares your eggs a la minute any way you want it. An omelet with everything on it? Sounds good.
Guaranteed to satisfy any appetite, Cafe Romancon's tasty offerings make it an ideal dining hot spot this side of the metro any time of day.
A good breakfast often sets the tone for the rest of the day, and you get that at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle's Cafe Romancon. Every day.
From the excellent cuisine to the comfortable and elegant accommodations, Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle sets the bar for service and hospitality, and this is seen throughout the hotel's efficient personnel...
...each one committed to ensuring you have a memorable stay with that Lasallian standard of service.
I've always known that De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde had a hotel institution, but experiencing it for the very first time far exceeded my expectations. It was an experience that I'll always remember, and I can't wait to be back at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle.
