Santorini? Mykonos? Think again...and you'd be surprised it's much closer to home.
After a short drive from Vigan (see my previous post on that trip here and the many flavors of Vigan on my other food blog here), we finally reached Ilocos Sur's Sabangan Cove for a glimpse of the newest, and probably the most stunning lifestyle resort development up north...
Vitalis Villas, located right across Vitalis Resort & Spa (more on Vitalis Resort & Spa on my other post here) along Sabangan Cove, rises elegantly from the coastline with its pristine dove-white and soothing blue shades dominating the cove. As you approach Vitalis Villas, one can't help but be impressed, reminding yourself once more that this is Ilocos Sur and not some distant Mediterranean isle. And this is home for the next three days. Three awesome days...
Since my very first visit during the early stages of construction (see my previous post here), I knew then Vitalis Villas would be special. Nestled on the cliffs high above the calm and tranquil Sabangan Cove in Santiago, Ilocos Sur, Vitalis Villas is the north's most exciting development yet destined to reshape the coastline with its elegant white structures. The impressive development include infinity pools built around the different levels of the luxurious property, each facing the sea. Guests also have direct access to Sabangan Cove, with stone steps leading you down the beach. If you prefer soft and powdery sand, Vitalis Resort & Spa is just a short two-minute shuttle ride away with the resorts' many golf carts.
Each of the villas are built following the natural contour of the steep terrain, providing each unit spectacular panoramic views of the sea and Vitalis Resort & Spa directly across Sabangan Cove. Throughout the property, the stark yet soothing themes of white and blue combine for an understated yet dazzling display of summer's vibrant colors as it exudes a cool Mediterranean vibe, transporting you far away to the iconic and rugged Italian and Greek coasts, an impression that remains real all throughout the duration of your stay at Vitalis Villas.
The elegant accommodations include single detached villas as well as multi-level clusters built on the sloping contour of the cliff-side property...
...and my villa simply made every morning perfect with its elegant view of the cove. Most villas have outdoor balconies so you can breathe in the cool ocean breeze and enjoy the sun, it's also a perfect spot for an ice-cold beer. Or make that a classic single-malt. You are, after all, in Vitalis Villas...
The spacious interiors include a living area, kitchen and dining area, with its unique dome-design theme extending to the elegant bedrooms with its zen-like white-on-white motif. If you need to escape the heat of summer, this one cools you down perfectly.
Many villas have two spacious bedrooms, configured in a two-level format, so there's enough privacy even for large families and groups.
Countless infinity pools can be found around the property, with large adult pools built-in with accessible bars so you can have your favorite cocktail without leaving the pool, as well as shallow kiddie pools for your Little VIPs.
While other villas have their own private infinity pool facing the calm Sabangan Cove. There's just nothing like jumping right in to wake you up in the morning and get you in that mellow Vitalis Villas vibe.
Read a book, get some sun, or better yet, do absolutely nothing while enjoying the view.
At Vitalis Villas, you can have your meal at the al fresco restaurant, by the pool, or at this spacious wide open deck by the sea. And with Chef Robby Goco of Cyma and Green Pastures as consultant, you can expect a satisfying meal anytime of day at Vitalis Villas (see my post on Vitalis Villas' varied cuisine on my other food blog here).
The rounded, dome-like design remains consistent throughout the property, including this functional water tower.
Other facilities are currently being completed, including a quaint chapel and a mini-convention hall near the entrance of Vitalis Villas, making this luxurious property a self-contained resort with everything you need.
The sound of the gentle surf, and the splash of water by the pool invites you for another dip. If it's speed you're after, Vitalis Villas can arrange jet ski rentals with its partner resort, Vitalis Resort & Spa. Speedboat cruises, banana boat rides and kayaking are also offered. You can also visit the hill-top zoo and let the kids take a ride on Shetland ponies. And there's more. Plans are underway to include fishing and scuba diving around Sabangan Cove, with Vitalis Villas as your base. There's so many things to do while at Vitalis Villas, but like I said, sometines the best thing to do is to do absolutely nothing at all. And Vitalis Villas lets you do just that.
By late afternoon, the fading light casts different hues, draping Vitalis Villas with yet another colorful palette of colors...
...and by early evening, Vitalis Villas is transformed with colorful lights for another facet of this impressive coastline property.
It's the end of another perfect day at Vitalis Villas, and time to plan out the next day's activities. A sunset cruise? Or speeding down the zipline across Sabangan Cove? Or both. At Vitalis Villas, it's more than just a destination, it's a lifestyle. This summer, keep your passport, and just drive up north...to Vitalis Villas.
